Summer is finally here and we have freed our toes from the prison of snow boots and sensible shoes! Now is the perfect time to experiment with color. This Summer season, everything from metallic to muted pastels are gracing the fingers and toes of beauties across the globe. Let one of these ideas inspire you to step outside of your nail color box!
BRONZE - Typically thought of as a Fall color, bronze is shining this summer! Pair with gold sandals or when wearing a neutral color dress to add a touch of shimmer like LVX color Malbec.
DEEP BLUE - Heading to the beach? Match your nail shade to the deep blue sea. Don’t fret about matching your outfit! Between the blue skies and blue water, this nail color will help you fit right in! LVX colors from left to right: Viola, Indigo Bleu and Tribute.
BRIGHT YELLOW - Nothing says sunny skies like a bright and beaming yellow! Many people find yellow hard to wear in their clothing, so painting your fingers and toes in the hue is a great way to test it out! Bring out the color by adding a skinny brilliant yellow belt or chunky bracelet to your wardrobe. We guarantee this sunny color will grow on you! LVX color in Saffron.
BUBBLEGUM PINK - Bring out your playful side with a shade reminiscent of days when we had all summer off and spent it by the pool popping bubble gum. Even if we do have to spend our summer “adulting” for the most part, our nail color can bring us back to the glory days of zero responsibility. Colors by LVX in Orchid and Voyage
MINT GREEN - A hint of mint can cool you down when things get too hot! This refreshing shade can balance out a bright outfit, or even calm your mood. Especially effective when sipping a mojito. From left to right, LVX colors: Viridian, Mynt, Turkoise, Jade and Lush.
SILVER SHIMMER - Let loose and gloss a layer of shimmer over your nails! Since shimmer reflects light and color, it goes with anything, channels your inner diva, and can fuel long nights spent dancing, whether it be under the stars or a disco ball. LVX colors from left to right: Luxe, Graphite and Haze.

When choosing skincare products, you definitely want to look for something with as few chemicals as possible. Things like parabens and sulfates can be very detrimental to your health. Everything you put on your skin gets absorbed into your body, and then has to be filtered out! Here are a few of the most common, and most toxic ingredients that can be found in skin and haircare products:
1.) Parabens (anything with propyl, ethyl, butyl, or methyl in the name) are used as preservatives, but cause hormone imbalances and have been found in breast cancer tumors.
2.) Sulfates are chemical foaming agents. They are what give soap and shampoo a rich lather. But they are also used in car washes and engine degreasers. They can cause skin irritation as well as other health problems, and they strip your skin of the natural, healthy oils. Use products with natural foaming agents such as saponified plant oils.
3.) Benzoyl Peroxide is used in acne treatment products and medication, but has been shown to possibly produce DNA damage and promote tumor growth, and is also a skin, eye, and respiratory irritant. Use a product with naturally derived salicylic acid from willow tree or wintergreen, or tea tree oil to combat breakouts.
4.) Sunscreen chemicals such as PABA, avobenzone, benzphenone, and ethoxycinnamate are free radical generators, disrupt hormones, and and can damage DNA and lead to cancer. Use products with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide instead.
5.) Mineral Oil is a very common ingredient in skincare, makeup, and haircare products. It is derived from petroleum, and can have cancer causing properties. It aggravates acne and negatively impacts normal skin functions. It seals off the skin and doesn't allow it to breathe, trapping dirt and bacteria in. It also disrupts hormone flow and can disrupt your immune system with long-term use.
These are just a few of the most common ingredients to avoid. Always be aware of what you are putting ON your body, as well as IN your body. Your skin is the largest organ, and works in synchronization with other systems. Keep it healthy!
